Woodie was born in Suffolk, Virginia but his dad moved him to West Virginia, Georgia, Virginia, Louisiana and eventually North Carolina where Woodie calls home. His soulful, baritone voice has a touch of Cajun blended with Carolina twang. He is as southern as they come loving to deer hunt in the woods of eastern NC and surf fish on the Atlantic Ocean from the Outer Banks where he currently resides. His dad taught him ukelele when he was young and he and younger Brother Eddy took up guitar in their 30's. Family concerts were a common occurrence when his Dad was in good health. "Trader John", as his Dad was commonly called due to running a country store in Elizabeth City, NC, passed away in 2020 leaving a banjo uke hole in the family group music sessions but Eddy continues to keep his band alive in the Richmond area and Woodie is moving along stronger than ever recording Christian Country songs and singing for the Lord every chance he gets. Look for him on tour in your state very soon!
